The riqualification of the Mental Health Clinic in the Domio neighborhood of Trieste has dealt with the modernisation of the existing building and the its extension by the construction of a new structure.

The aim was to improve the general functionality by works of redistribution of interiour spaces and renew a more direct relationship of interiour and exteriour.

The functions have been redistributed in a process of participated design: during the meetings with the operators the needs and requests emerged theat have, then, led to compositive decisions.

Reuse of the former kitchen building at the Basaglia Park in Gorizia, for the Mental Health Center.
Building subject to heritage laws.

The restoration of the building seeks to preserve and enhance it at the same time, since the building is of particular value both for its architectural and constructive quality, as well as for the urban layout of the complex of the former psychiatric provincial clinic which it belongs.

All the design steps have been developed in a continuous exchange with the management and medical staff of the CSM, in order to develop the functional and distributive solutions for the proper functioning of the Centre in a concerted way.
