The accommodation, located on the first floor of a nineteenth-century building, enjoys a corner exposure to a large garden. Internally, a row arrangement of passer rooms, with the addition of a corridor and rudimentary services, had to be adapted to the multiple needs, i.e. housing and work, of a large family: the idea was to ensure the necessary domestic comfort, while getting a space suitable for hosting business meetings, as well as a recording studio for dubbing activities plus a guest room. The result of the project design was the creation of three rooms and two bathrooms for the sleeping area, then a large living room with kitchen, a lounge that can be used both as a living room and as a meeting room and a studio with an adjoining recording room and a loft space for guests.

The functional concept underlying the design of the spaces turns out to be the cluster organization: the connective spaces are reduced to the entrance hall and the corridor of the sleeping area. The bathrooms, of which the one adjacent to the entrance hall serves the living area, are placed in the less sunny area of the apartment, to favor instead the exposure of the bedrooms toward the garden and the courtyard. The living area occupies the corner left of the entrance hall, where open and passing spaces are preferred: the living room with the open plan kitchen, the corner lounge and the study with the audio recording room with loft for guests. Both the kitchen and living room have sliding doors that particularly in the living room allow the room to be circumscribed to accommodate any business meetings.

With a view to satisfying the working needs of the head of the family, a corner of the study room was used as a recording room. Taking advantage of the important heights of the room, a loft has been created for a guest room, while under the loft it was possible to obtain a study in which there is a chair, a lectern, and the audio equipment. The movable walls allow you to close this space when you proceed to the recording and need to insulate acoustically. A reserved place, duly lit, in which, through using a special technical fabric covering the fixed and mobile walls, the necessary soundproofing of the workstation has been achieved.

In addition to the different layout of the spaces and the renewal of all the finishes, the measures concerned also the renovation of the electrical and hydro-thermo-sanitary systems as well as the installation of a cooling system. All the external doors and windows have been replaced, keeping the historical shutters, and the internal frames have been substituted too in favor of sliding doors, to improve the flexibility of the spaces. The result is a house that offers all the necessary space to the family, making it easy to move in through and use it.
